Shacknews reports that Naughty Dog’s treasure hunting action sequel Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has achieved gold status, with the game now entering manufacturing stages ahead of its U.S. release on October 13.
Among Thieves signals the return of brash adventurer Nathan Drake, who finds himself on the trail of legendary explorer Marco Polo’s lost fleet, which disappeared during a return trip from China in 1292. Drake will be joined in his quest by old pals Sully and Elena, alongside new faces Claudia Black and Karl Schafer.
Players will find themselves hopping, climbing and shoot their way through heaps of new environments, utilizing an all-new close quarters combat system, along with finding themselves thrust into numerous high octane action set pieces, such as ploughing through waves of enemies on the back of a speeding train.
A European release date has yet to be announced.
